Who This Course Is For
Start here. Go anywhere.
AI Impact Essentials is the prerequisite for every domain track. It gives you the foundation to succeed no matter which specialization you choose.
💼

Professionals New to AI

You've heard the buzz but haven't found a structured way to actually learn AI tools and understand what's real versus hype.

🔄

Career Changers

You're pivoting into an AI-adjacent role and need to quickly build literacy and demonstrate hands-on capability.

👥

Team Leads

You're exploring AI adoption for your team and need to understand the landscape before making strategic decisions.

🎓

Lifelong Learners

You want to understand the most transformative technology of our time, not just use it, but truly understand how it works.

The Curriculum
Three modules.
One foundation.
Each module builds your understanding from the ground up. By the end, you'll have the skills and confidence to succeed in any domain track.
Module 1 of 3

How AI Actually Works

Demystify machine learning, LLMs, and generative AI — without needing a CS degree.

Most AI education starts with theory and stays there. This module starts with what AI can do, then builds backward to explain why. You'll understand the difference between machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI. You'll explore how large language models process information, generate text, and make mistakes. And you'll learn to evaluate AI capabilities honestly — separating real potential from marketing hype.

What You'll Learn

  • The AI landscape: machine learning, deep learning, LLMs, and generative AI explained
  • How transformers work: attention, tokens, context windows, and why "hallucinations" happen
  • What AI can and can't do: realistic capability assessment for business applications
  • AI ethics and bias: understanding training data, alignment, and responsible use
  • The history and trajectory: from expert systems to AGI — where we are and where we're going

What You'll Build

  • Personal AI capability assessment worksheet
  • AI opportunity map for your industry or role
  • Myth vs. reality cheat sheet you can share with your team
  • Framework for evaluating new AI tools and claims
Duration: 2 sessions
Format: Video + hands-on tool exploration
Prerequisite: None
Module 2 of 3

The AI Tool Landscape

Navigate the ecosystem of AI tools — from ChatGPT and Claude to Midjourney, Copilot, and industry-specific platforms.

There are thousands of AI tools, and the landscape changes weekly. This module gives you a framework for evaluating, comparing, and selecting the right tools for your specific needs. You'll test-drive the major platforms, understand their strengths and limitations, and build a personal tool stack that fits your workflow and budget.

What You'll Learn

  • The major AI platforms: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot — head-to-head comparison
  • Image and video generation: Midjourney, DALL-E, Runway, and emerging tools
  • Code assistants: GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Replit — when to use what
  • Industry-specific tools: legal, healthcare, finance, marketing, and design AI
  • Building your tool stack: evaluation framework, pricing, and integration strategy

What You'll Build

  • Personal AI tool stack tailored to your role and industry
  • Tool comparison matrix with scoring rubric
  • Monthly AI tool budget and ROI projection
  • Integration plan for your existing workflow
Duration: 1 session
Format: Video + live tool demos
Prerequisite: Module 1
Module 3 of 3

Prompt Engineering & Your First Workflow

Master prompting techniques and build your first complete AI-powered workflow from scratch.

Prompt engineering is the single most valuable AI skill for non-technical professionals. This module takes you from basic prompts to advanced techniques like chain-of-thought reasoning, few-shot learning, and system prompt design. Then you'll put it all together by building a real AI-powered workflow that automates something meaningful in your work.

What You'll Learn

  • Prompt fundamentals: structure, specificity, persona, and output formatting
  • Advanced techniques: chain-of-thought, few-shot learning, and system prompts
  • Prompt debugging: when AI gives bad output, how to diagnose and fix it
  • Workflow automation: connecting AI tools into multi-step processes
  • Building reliable AI features: consistency, testing, and edge case handling

What You'll Build

  • Prompt engineering playbook with 20+ reusable templates
  • Your first working AI-powered workflow (deployed and functional)
  • Before/after case study showing time saved
  • Foundation Certificate upon completion
Duration: 1 session + capstone project
Format: Video + build workshop
Prerequisite: Module 2
Tools: ChatGPT, Claude, Zapier, Make.com

Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions?
Here are the ones we hear most about the Foundation course.
Do I need any technical background?

Absolutely not. AI Impact Essentials is designed for professionals with zero technical background. We explain everything from the ground up using plain language, real-world analogies, and hands-on exercises. If you can use a web browser, you can take this course.

Is the Foundation course required before taking a track?

Recommended but not strictly required. If you're already comfortable with AI tools, understand prompt engineering basics, and have built at least one AI workflow, you may be able to skip directly to a domain track. We offer a short assessment to help you decide.

How much time should I plan?

The Foundation runs as a 3-day intensive — roughly 6–8 hours per day across video lessons, hands-on tool exploration, and your capstone workflow project. It's designed for working professionals who want a sharp learning sprint rather than a slow weekly cadence.

What if I already know some of this material?

Even experienced AI users tell us they learn something new. The Foundation fills gaps you might not know you have — especially around the "why" behind how AI works, tool evaluation frameworks, and advanced prompt engineering. But if you're confident in your skills, take our skip assessment and jump into a track.

Does my enrollment fund a student scholarship?

Yes. Every enrollment — including standalone Foundation purchases — directly funds a full scholarship for an underserved student through the AI Impact Foundation (501(c)(3)). You learn AI. A student gets access. One enrollment, two futures.
